AARIN: HISTORY
Designated female at birth, Aarin was raised to be a cisgender female during most of his young life. As a child, Aarin's education began relatively early, and his parents had organized a number of scheduled activities to begin before Aarin's school years, and then continue throughout. Aarin mingled with various types of other children when young, but Aarin didn't often get time to socialize outside of school hours due to the schedule that his parents had set. Despite living in a very affluent household and receiving many benefits, Aarin rebelled at times and desired a more relaxed day to day lifestyle. When Aarin began experiencing repeated nightmares throughout his childhood, he was hesitant and unwilling to tell his parents. As the years drew on, and Aarin had begun middle school and had started focusing on playing violin. It was around this time when Aarin began to consciously drift away from cisgender female identification, but was yet to learn about alternative gender identities.
Since they had begun in elementary school, Aarin's nightmares had shown no signs of decrease. Over time, Aarin inevitably began losing sleep, which in turn resulted in irritable behaviour. His parents eventually found out, despite Aarin's complete lack of communication. Aarin was confronted, but continued to avoid discussion about it with his parents, based on his own personal feelings towards the two of them at the time. This created tensions as his parents tried to work through the situation, which inadvertently caused more frustration and abrasiveness on Aarin's behalf. The decision was eventually made to put Aarin on medium strength medication to stop his health from worsening. It was around this time that Aarin began to express his feelings about his gender identity. Due to the pre-existing tensions and timing of the confession, Aarin's parents met those feelings with apprehension instead of acceptance, explaining to Aarin that this could simply be a psychological side-effect of what he was going through with his nightmare disorder. Aarin took the apprehension hard, seeing it as a form of rejection from the parents who he felt were already giving him so little freedom. Aarin's feelings towards his parents became a little bitter, and throughout highschool Aarin began to forcefully go against his parents' will in places. Aarin didn't show up to many of the extra classes his parents had assigned, with the exception of violin. Although disruptive to Aarin's education, not as beneficial, Aarin began to engage in more individualized thinking through this, and made more decisions for himself such as pursuing masculine gender identity. But out of spite, and as a form of distraction, Aarin had gotten into the habit of frittering away money by the time he graduated from high school.
