EADRIC: HISTORY
Eadric was born into an intermediate ranked family branch within the demon clan he was birthed to. His father was one of the many brothers of the clan head's husband. His mother, who had grown close to the clan head, died in the months following Eadric's birth due to contracting a disease post-pregnancy. The clan head's grief turned into malice for Eadric and his father, which made it difficult for the two of them to work and sustain themselves under the clan head's rule. As the years grew on, Eadric tried to engage more with clan activities, heists, and contributions, but was often rejected for this reason. The constant stress and inability to succeed took its toll on Eadric's father, who started to see his son as a crippling burden. Tension rose between them and his father became more and more unwelcoming and spiteful towards him. In time, this spurred on Eadric's desire to succeed within the clan-- so that he could gain independence, and prove himself, for himself.
He remained diligent, and was able to participate in lower grade heists and operations alongside other low-ranking clan members. Over time, through perseverance, he was able to gain the support of a few of his colleges. When the clan head's son, Alberich, stole from his own family and disappeared, Eadric was able to use this to his advantage. When the clan head sent out search parties to hunt down Alberich, the regular operations were severely understaffed. Eadric undertook most of these missions himself, and worked hard; eventually becoming a leader for missions and organizing heists by himself. The clan head gave him recognition, and allowed him to keep a large cut along with his position of power within the clan. He became recognised as one of the most resourceful members of the higher clan family, and the clan head appointed him as the official outside relations representative when Eadric volunteered for the role. After arranging a backlog of heist schedules, Eadric made way towards the major demon cities with the aim of scoping out major threats and forging alliances.
Here, Eadric met Elsie at the café they waitress at part-time, when he had been going to get breakfast one morning early on in his visit. Eadric all but fell in love at first sight, and bashfully watched from afar and stammered his way through his own order. Trying his best, he became a repeat customer and struck up conversation with Elsie where he could; eventually inviting them to dinner. Because of his clumsiness, Eadric was struck with surprise when Elsie accepted, and from then onwards the two kept in contact. Wishing for Elsie's own happiness, Eadric began showering Elsie with whatever gifts he could in the hopes it would bring then joy. Blinded by lovesickness and infatuation, this continued for quite a while, with Eadric sent over the moon every time Elsie reciprocated his interest. During a normal encounter with them, Eadric's love-addled brain and loose tongue lead him to unintentionally blurt out, "I want to marry you, Elsie!". In a fit of embarrassment after the realisation of what he had just said, he'd almost started to take it back, but before he could, the most beautiful woman in his life said yes.
