MARMALADE: HISTORY
Marmalade was raised in a pseudo-isolated, cottage style home on the very outskirts of her town. Her domestic childhood life was very quiet and serene; and her mother opted to have Marmalade home schooled during the majority of her pre-teen years. During these years, Marmalade spent almost all of her time with her family, and her mother in particular spent a large amount of time teaching Marmalade about non-academic matters. In particular, Marmalade was taught about life and the weight of responsibility in regards to the powers she inherited from her mother. As she grew older, Marmalade adopted her mother's patience and orientation towards kindness.
Throughout her childhood, Marmalade engaged in leisure clubs and activities to help her interact with her peers. These were often in the form of arts, dance, or sports clubs-- whatever would be available nearby during the weekends. Her mother made a particular effort to place Marmalade in activities that had smaller participation groups. Gradually, her mother introduced her to clubs and events with a wider participant span, to help ease Marmalade into larger-scale socialization. Marmalade was able to cope thanks to this gradation, and in time, she was enrolled into a high-school closer to town. Though shy at times, Marmalade gradually found her footing and had a healthy, evenly paced teen life. By the time her graduation was upon her, she had developed as a person, and had found a sense of self that she lacked before entering high school. Through her experiences, she'd built up a stronger world view and had solidified her values. Marmalade had begun her college enrollments well before graduation, and thus transitioned into college the year after. The process went smoothly, and she soon made friends in her college gymnastics club.
Through various passing encounters around campus, Marmalade became pointedly aware of one student, Roger Jacqueline. From what she could sense with her third eye abilities, she knew from the beginning that he possessed supernatural abilities, and that he was burdened by his past. The two formally introduced each other after being required to wait in the administration office one day. From this point onwards, they began sitting together whenever they ran into eachother at the campus café. They exchanged notes and study methods, and later started to attend campus events together. Over time, Marmalade grew to hold Roger in high regard. Thinking that this fondness was one-sided, it came as a genuine surprise when Roger asked her out several weeks later. Bashful but glowing with happiness, Marmalade took the opportunity to get closer to him with no hesitation.
